Beehive Kitchenware by Tracey George Posted on July 02, '13

Beehive Kitchenware was founded by Sandra Bonazoli and Jim Dowd and began in the pantry of their own home in 1998. Inspired by the kitchenware they found in old homes and flea markets, they began making their own metalware that was both functional and beautiful.

Sandra holds a BA in Art History and a MFA in Jewelry and Metals. She is part- time faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Her work, and her writing about craft has been featured in numerous publications.

Jim has a BFA in Design and MFA in Jewelry and Metals. He has personally soldered most of the architectural metalwork in Bill Gates' house.

Their collaborative work has been exhibited at the Museum of Arts & Design (formerly, the American Craft Museum) in New York City. When they're not working in their studio, Sandra and Jim enjoy sailing, good snacks, their pals, and have spent a ridiculous amount of time fixing up their house.
